Christ Church lost their first game of the season, but after that no one was able to stop the Cavaliers.
Christ Church jumped out in front of Johnsonville, the team that was ranked on top of the Class A poll entering the playoffs.
Quarterback Woods Windham completed 13 of 19 passes for 260 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Dashun Reeder gained 152 yards on 15 rushes and found the end zone twice to help the Cavaliers claim the title.
The win was the first championship for the school since it won four-straight between 2011 and 2014 while they set a state record with 55 straight wins.
The championship was the sixth in the schools history.
The Abbeville Panthers won their 8th state championship since 2010 with their win over Oceanside, the team ranked on top of Class AA polls going into the playoffs.
The Panthers dominated play in the first half running up a 21-0 lead at the break.
Abbeville’s Karson Norman’s 61 yard touchdown got the Panthers rolling and when Javario Tinch made an NFL quality catch with a toe tap in the back of the end zone gave the Panthers the big lead at halftime.
In the second half Oceanside piled up statistics, but was never really able to challenge the Panthers.
The Panthers finished the year with a 13-3 record and the 12th state championship in the schools history.
